Runway Closure Alert!

A nightly closure of Runway 5-23 is scheduled from 2200L on May 1 through 0600L on May 2 (weather dependent) to accommodate runway marking work.

Crews will paint final runway markings associated with Phase X of the Airport’s Runway 5-23 Rehabilitation project (completed in 2024) between Taxiway Echo and the threshold of Runway 5. Due to colder temperatures at the end of Phase X, final marking work was unable to be completed in 2024.

The entire Runway 5-23 center line will also be painted during this closure. This will require a one-hour airport closure to fixed-wing traffic to allow painting in the intersection of Runway 13-31 and Runway 5-23.

The exact timing of the one-hour airport closure will be provided as we approach May 1. DM encourages all operators to check NOTAMs and contact Airport Operations before any potential flight activity.

Rain dates for the marking work will be either May 8 or May 9.

KTEB WENTZ 1 RNAV SID To Be Introduced on July 11

TUG has for quite some time worked collaboratively with the FAA to develop a KTEB Rwy 24 SID that offers greater clarity, improved procedural simplicity, and lower susceptibility to error than the current RUUDY 6 SID. This process will culminate with the July 11 publication of the WENTZ 1 RNAV SID. We expect the RUUDY 6 to sunset one year later. The most significant enhancement involves a Top Altitude of 1500’ with no step climb.

TUG expresses our sincere gratitude to the FAA and those individuals directly involved in the development of this procedure.
